Zambezi Marketing Versus INN8 Industries

26 August 2026  |  Track Record, Client Evidence, Technical Review Of Each Firm's Own Site, And Search Visibility

In short. Everything below was measured or read from a public register, with no input from either firm. Zambezi has an 11-year-old domain and 117 traceable live client sites; INN8 has a 14-month-old domain and one published case study, for a motorcycle dealer. On their own websites, INN8 ships 11,230 KB against Zambezi's 1,654 KB, has no meta description, uses FROM OUR CLIENTS as its H1, and is missing alt text on every image. Neither firm carries any structured data on its own site, and neither ranks for its own category. The most useful single finding is that the Rise Uptown Hotel site Zambezi built is far better engineered than Zambezi's own, and that no comparable INN8 client site exists to inspect.

What This Is

A head-to-head of the two agencies on everything visible from outside: how long each has existed, who each can be shown to have worked for, how each one's own website is built, and how search engines treat them. Nothing here comes from either firm's sales material. Every figure was measured or read from a public register on 25 and 26 August 2026.

An agency's own website is the one piece of its work you can inspect without being a client. It is not conclusive, because the cobbler's children famously go barefoot, but it is evidence and it is free to collect.

This is a comparison of what can be seen, not a character assessment. A young firm with a thin public footprint can still do good work, and an established one can coast. The point of the table is that on every dimension that can be checked from outside, the evidence runs one way.

The One Finding That Matters MostProduct Beats Storefront

Zambezi's client work is dramatically better than its own website, and that is the right way round. Their own marketing site is a single-page brochure with no structured data, no canonical tag, and no sitemap. The Rise Uptown Hotel site they built carries Hotel, Offer, OfferCatalog, ReserveAction, BreadcrumbList, LocationFeatureSpecification and separate markup for each food and beverage outlet.

There is no equivalent test available for INN8, because no hospitality client site exists to inspect. That absence is the finding. If they hold unpublished work, asking for two live client URLs is a reasonable and easily answered request.

Ask both firms for two live client sites and let them be inspected. It takes under an hour, it cannot be rehearsed, and it is the single most informative thing either of them could hand over.

Neither firm publishes a conventional client list, which is unusual for agencies of any size and makes references worth asking for directly. The difference is that Zambezi's installed base is large enough to be measured by a third party without their cooperation.

How The 117 Figure Was Reached

BuiltWith crawls the web and identifies the technology behind each site. Because Zambezi builds on a proprietary platform with a distinctive signature, every site they build is detectable whether or not they advertise it. BuiltWith reports 117 live and 24 historical.

We could not load the BuiltWith page directly, which blocks automated access, so that figure comes from its indexed summary rather than from our own reading of the page. Treat it as strong but second-hand. The Rise Uptown confirmation, by contrast, was inspected directly.

The same method returns nothing for INN8, because there is no shared platform signature to look for. That is not evidence of no clients. It means their work, if it exists, is built on ordinary tooling and cannot be traced from outside.

Total Weight, Transferred1,654 KB11,230 KBZambeziINN8's home page is 6.8 times heavier

Both firms measured the same way on 2026-08-26: headless Chromium at 1440 by 900, cache disabled, median of three cold loads, weight in TRANSFERRED bytes read from the browser network layer. That is the metric every deliverable in this set publishes, so the figures agree with each other. An earlier pass summed DECODED bytes and reported 8,563 KB for INN8; decoded and transferred are both legitimate and are not comparable. The INN8 figures here are the same ones the capability demonstration publishes, re-read today to confirm they still hold. Request counts are shown at both scopes. An earlier version of this table gave a request count taken before scrolling beside a weight taken after it, and stated a scorecard figure of 46 that no run produced. Three cold runs today returned 40 completed requests for INN8 and 22 for Zambezi, every time. Measured on desktop over a fast connection with no throttling, which flatters both. On a phone on hotel wi-fi the weight difference would separate them much further than these timings suggest. Timings are lab figures from one wired location and move between runs, so read the weight and the request counts as the durable measurements and the milliseconds as context.

Asset TypeZambeziINN8Comment
Images589 KB, every one WebP10,179 KB, every one JPEG or PNG, no modern format at allThe single biggest craft difference in this document. Converting those images to WebP would remove roughly 5 MB with no visible quality loss. It is a standard build step
Fonts1,003 KB88 KBZambezi's own weakness. A megabyte of woff2 is a lot, and it is 60 percent of their page
JavaScript46 KB913 KBINN8 ships 13 times more script for a page with fewer words on it
CSS8 KB27 KB
HTML7 KB21 KB

Read this as craft, not as speed. Both sites load quickly on a desktop because both are small, simple pages on good infrastructure. The difference is that one of them was built by someone who runs an image pipeline and the other was not. An agency that ships 6.4 MB of unoptimized images on its own home page will ship them on yours.

Neither firm has done the basic technical SEO work on its own site, and both sell SEO. For a single-page brochure the practical cost is close to zero, which is presumably why neither bothered. It is still worth knowing that the people you would pay to add structured data to your restaurant have added none to their own site.

The Structured Data Point, In Fairness To ZambeziClient Work, Not Storefront

Neither agency's own site carries a single line of structured data. But the Rise Uptown Hotel site Zambezi built carries a great deal of it, and it is well-formed hospitality markup rather than a generic block:

  • Hotel, with LocationFeatureSpecification for amenities
  • Offer and OfferCatalog for rate plans
  • ReserveAction with a booking entry point, which is what produces a reserve link in search results
  • BarOrPub, CafeOrCoffeeShop and IceCreamShop as separate outlets, so each food and beverage venue is its own indexed entity
  • BreadcrumbList, ImageObject, WebSite, WebPage

That is a materially more sophisticated implementation than anything measured elsewhere in this review, including the restaurant platforms. It says the capability is real and simply not applied to their own storefront.

These are automated checks and they catch perhaps a third of real accessibility problems. Color contrast, keyboard traps, and focus order need a manual audit. A clean automated pass is not conformance, but a failure is a failure.

Why This Test Is Fair To RunBoth Sell Websites

Zambezi advertises ADA compliance as a headline deliverable. Their own site passes the image test completely and fails on the skip link and the main landmark, both Level A items. They largely meet their own claim and do not fully meet it.

INN8 sells web design and every image on its home page is missing alt text, with no header, footer, or main landmark anywhere in the document. That is the most basic accessibility requirement there is, on a three-image page, on the site that exists to demonstrate their competence.

Elements and Riverwoods are public accommodations, which is the category that draws web accessibility claims. Whoever rebuilds those sites should be able to demonstrate conformance, and the cheapest evidence available is whether they achieved it on their own.

Searching Each Firm's Own NameBrand Queries

Zambezi MarketingTheir site appears around 4th. They are outranked for their own name by a better-known firm that happens to share it. It costs them discovery traffic and it is largely unfixable without a rename
INN8 IndustriesTheir site appears last on the first page. Ahead of it sit their own Instagram, LinkedIn and Facebook pages, ZoomInfo, and four unrelated companies including Innodisk, InnoLux, InnSuites and a South African investment platform called INN8Their own social profiles outrank their own website for their own company name. For a firm selling SEO that is the most direct evidence available of what their SEO produces

Searching The Terms That Would Win WorkNeither Appears

QueryZambeziINN8Who Does Rank
Hotel Marketing Agency Direct Bookings Website DesignNot presentNot presentMediaboom, Tambourine, Arise Hotel Marketing, and several listicle publishers
Restaurant Marketing Agency Website Design Social MediaNot presentNot presentDesignRush, Foodie Agency, and a set of regional specialists

Neither firm competes in organic search for its own category. Both win work through referral and relationship instead, which is normal for small agencies and worth stating plainly rather than holding against either of them.

It does undercut one specific sales claim. A firm that cannot rank itself for the term describing what it sells is making a harder argument when it offers to rank you. Ask both to name a client and the term that client now ranks for, then check it.

Method, And What This Is Not

  • These are search result sets read on 26 August 2026, not Google rank-tracker data. Position in a result set is a reasonable proxy for rank, not a measurement of it.
  • Results are personalized and localized. A search run from Cache Valley on a signed-in browser will differ.
  • No backlink or domain authority data is included. Those tools require a paid subscription this review did not use. Absence of that data is a real gap and it is the single thing most likely to change the ranking picture.
  • Nothing here measures conversion. A site that ranks badly can still sell well, which is precisely how both of these firms appear to operate.

Put These To Both, In WritingSame Test, Both Firms

#QuestionWhy It Separates Them
1Give us two live client sites we may inspect.Cannot be rehearsed. An hour of inspection tells you more than any deck. Zambezi can point at 117; the answer from INN8 is the whole question
2Name a client and a search term that client now ranks for, and when it started ranking.Turns an SEO claim into a checkable fact
3Show us structured data on a site you built. It is invisible in a demo, it is what actually drives restaurant and hotel search features, and neither firm has it on its own site
4What accessibility standard do you build to, and will you warrant it?Both properties are public accommodations. One firm sells this and the other does not mention it
5Who physically does the work, and will any of it be subcontracted? One agreement on the table permits subcontracting without consent. Both firms are small enough that this matters
6What do we take with us if we leave?Zambezi builds on a proprietary platform. INN8's agreement grants a license rather than ownership. Different problems, same question

Question 1 is the one that matters. Everything in this document was assembled from outside, without cooperation from either firm, in about an hour. Two client URLs from each would settle most of it.

How Each Figure Was Produced

MeasurementMethod
Speed and weightHeadless Chromium at 1440 by 900, cache disabled, median of three cold loads, read 26 August 2026. Weight is transferred bytes summed from the browser's own network layer, counted across the full page after scrolling. Core Web Vitals read from the browser's own PerformanceObserver. Both firms were measured in the same conditions on the same day
On-page SEO and accessibilityRead from the rendered DOM after load, not from source, so anything injected by script is included
Domain age and DNSVerisign RDAP registry lookup, 26 August 2026
Entity factsGeorgia Secretary of State, Corporations Division
Zambezi client countBuiltWith technology index, via its indexed summary. The page itself blocks automated access, so this figure is second-hand
Rise Uptown attributionDirect inspection. The stylesheet namespaces its custom properties `--zambezi-` and the site runs the same nginx-rc stack as Zambezi's own
Search positionsSearch result sets read 26 August 2026. A proxy for rank, not rank data

What Is Missing, And It Matters

  • No backlink or domain authority data. This needs a paid tool. It is the biggest gap in the ranking section.
  • No mobile or throttled performance test. Desktop unthrottled flatters both sites and hides the weight difference.
  • No manual accessibility audit. Automated checks catch roughly a third of real issues. Contrast, focus order and keyboard traps are untested.
  • Only one Zambezi client site was inspected. One build is not a portfolio, and Rise Uptown may be their best work rather than their typical work.
  • No INN8 client site could be inspected at all, so the comparison is asymmetric by necessity. That is a finding about what is public, not proof that none exists.
  • Neither firm was contacted. Everything here is external observation, and both would be entitled to answer it.

A Fairness Note

An agency's own website is a weak signal and a real one. Agencies neglect their own sites because client work pays and self-promotion does not, and the strongest single finding in this document is exactly that pattern: Zambezi's client build is far better than their storefront.

The reason to run the test anyway is that it is the only work sample available before signing. Where it agrees with everything else, as it does here, it is worth weighting. Where a firm's client work contradicts it, the client work should win.
